HR Tech 2022 Key Takeaways

The HR Tech 2022 conference wrapped in Las Vegas last week, and we at Visier all agree it was the best one yet. Tens thousands of attendees gathered to learn more about the technology solutions that would help them tackle the moment’s toughest people issues: a tight labor market, continuous turnover, and hybrid work success.

Visier showed up in full force at an active booth where the demos never stopped (Have 30 minutes? Schedule a demo!), and as host of an opening-night party at Skyfall Lounge where upwards of 500 friends and colleagues packed the room to enjoy custom cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a lightning show from mother nature. But it was the conversations happening on the show floor, in sessions, and in hallways that were the most electrifying.

The analysts were abuzz about HR technology’s future

In Josh Bersin’s keynote address he spoke to the increasing demand for HR technology with resignations at an all-time high, and the numbers of burnt out employees continuing to climb. A 2021 investment of $12 billion in the HR tech industry (double the investments in 2019 + 2020 combined) proves that the need for data insights and guidance is exploding. Further proof? 2021 saw 22 new tech unicorns, including Visier, joining the $1B+ valuation rank.

The interest played out in the well-attended sessions hosted, and packed expo hall floor where some of the hottest topics included passive/active listening, hybrid work models, and persistent resignations. Stacey Harris presented the results from Sapient Insight’s 2022 HR Systems Survey, revealing that companies with over 500 employees earmarked an additional 21% of their technology spend for HR analytics technology, the first time this category made the list. We’re also proud to highlight that Visier ranked #1 in customer satisfaction in the HR analytics space according to the survey.

A huge demand for embedded analytics

As product-led HR technology companies seek to grow and offer their users more value, they are turning to embedded analytics—the power of people analytics inside their product—to drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction.

At a Visier solutions session led by Patrice Le Bihan, partner pre-sales and solutions, and Matt Proctor, embedded analytics sales, curious attendees got a firsthand look at what Visier Embedded Analytics could look like for their business and within their platform. Key takeaways from that session include:

  1. HR technology companies are successfully providing people analytics to their customers to help solve critical business problems in a post-pandemic world, like retention, workforce planning, onboarding, and performance in a hybrid workplace, for instance.

  2. How companies can add analytics to their product portfolio to drive incremental revenue and growth.

  3. And, how adding analytics to a solution offers a distinct competitive advantage.

Passive & active listening technology takes off

As called out in Josh Bersin’s keynote address: The up-and-coming passive listening technologies on the market. Visier’s Workplace Dynamics is the only technology that includes both passive and active listening capabilities.

With so many employees working remotely and organizations working out hybrid work models, it’s easy to miss the small, nuanced cues that an employee is burning out. And employees are burning out at record rates—89% said they’ve experienced occupational burnout recently

As a result, passive and active listening technology is rising in popularity to help detect and address burnout before it escalates to critical levels. By gathering datapoints from everyday business interactions and communications, solutions like Visier’s new Workplace Dynamics can signal to managers when an employee may be out of sorts.
